OK, now I am officially retired. So far it doesn't feel any different, but I've only been retired for about 3 hours. Since we are so focused on planning for the trip, I haven't really thought much about the retirement aspect, but it did seem a little strange today when I was at work and realized it was my last day. It probably will not hit me until we return from the trip in August and I don't have to go back to work. Or maybe about two weeks into the trip when I realize I haven't gone to work for awhile.
We are really getting excited about the trip. We have been laying things out and making lists of what we will take. We went shopping today for the obligatory snacks to eat along the way -- mostly a variety of nuts and cereal and chocolate covered pretzels for Mary. Sheila sounds like she is ready to go also, and I think Rob and Angie are ready for us to leave them alone for awhile. Having house sitters is great. It really is nice to be able to go on a trip like this and not worry about the house. Except maybe for that party Rob has planned. 8^)

No party planned. I promise you that. Also, we are sad to see you leave, but it will give us the opportunity to remove any moldy cheese left in the fridge.
Congrats on retirement. We shall see how long that lasts.
